As of August 1, 2022, the CCSP exam has gone through a domain refresh. The exam also now contains 50 pretest (unscored) items, which will change the number of items a candidate will need to answer from 125 to 150. To allow for these additional items, the maximum exam administration time will increase from three to four hours.

Prerequisites for certification

  • Candidates are required to have a minimum of five years cumulative work experience in one or more of the six domains of the CCSP CBK
  • Earning (ISC)²’s CISSP credential can be substituted for the entire CCSP experience requirement
  • A candidate that doesn’t have the required experience to become a CCSP may become an Associate of (ISC)²by successfully passing the CCSP examination. The Associate of (ISC)² will then have 6 years to earn the 5 years required experience
