Richard Nealon
Richard Nealon is an official certified instructor for ISC2 and a seasoned Information Security and Risk Management professional with over 35 years’ experience. He was one of the first certified information security professionals in Ireland and has worked for most of his career in the information technology area (Security, Risk, Assurance, and eDiscovery) within the financial services industry.
With first-hand experience of the challenges that information security professionals face, Richard incorporates practical and relatable insights to the course content, creating more relevance and enhanced learning for attendees.
Richard has extensive leadership and governance experience both through work experience and his current & past volunteer work on several domestic and international (Security & Standards) boards and committees. Most recently, he was engaged in designing, developing, and implementing an Information Risk & Security framework for an Irish SME (and bringing them to full ISO/IEC27001 certification within a short time frame).
He was formerly a Director of ISC2 (2007-2016) and is currently a Trustee Director of The SABSA Institute (2018 – ).
Richard is a regular speaker and panellist at domestic and international conferences over the past 20 years and has received a number of international awards for his services to the information security profession.
He holds CISSP-ISSMP, CISSP and SSCP from ISC2, CISM, CISA from ISACA, as well as SABSA SCF and a number of other certificates.

- ISC2 Official Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- ISC2 Official Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
He also works with clients on Cybersecurity Consultancy projects.
