Cyber Career Pathways Tool
The Cyber Career Pathways Tool has been released by the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to help cyber professionals, employers and students to identify, build, and navigate a potential cyber career pathway by increasing their understanding of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to begin, transition, or advance a cyber career.
As published by CISA, The Cyber Career Pathways Tool presents a new and interactive way to explore work roles within the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework. It depicts the cyber workforce as five distinct, yet complementary, skill communities. It also highlights core attributes among each of the 52 work roles and offers actionable insights for employers, professionals, and individuals considering a career in cybersecurity.
The Cyber Career Pathways Tool can be used by users from a variety of backgrounds to better understand the cyber workforce as a whole:
- By cybersecurity professionals to advance their cyber career through training, reskilling, and upskilling;
- By employers and managers recruiting cyber talent to create position descriptions, guide employees, procure training, and conduct workforce assessments
- By students, graduates and future cybersecurity professionals to identify cyber work roles of their interest, and the training and certifications that will help them achieve these goals.
